What are your summer
destination plans?
I’ m always on the lookout for a good“ staycation.” Even if it’ s only for a few hours. I count the times going over to the Virginia to take in a show, or the trips up to Lexington to go shopping or find a meal you just can’ t get around here. I count those day outings down to Big South Fork or over to the Cumberland Falls. A change’ s as good as a rest, they say, and seeing different trees and water to that I’ m used to certainly seems to boost my mood.
Vacations, whether for a day, a week or something snuck in like a snack between chores, are proven to bolster one’ s health, both body and mind. It shows us the world from a different perspective, allows us to expand our worldview – or county-view, if all you can do is spend a night camping at Bee Rock or Pulaski County Park.
With summer right around the corner, we here at SEKYL felt like it was time to be planning a summer break, so we asked for advice from some of the best experts around: Our readers.
So take their advice and get out onto the open road for a spell. You never know what adventures await.
As always, answers may be edited to correct spelling or grammar.
