Lacy Johnson on the family farm animals that are the most challenging to work with are the miniature donkeys because they are stubborn, and the goat because he gets his horns stuck in everything and tries to eat everything."
Her personal favorite is Luke, the miniature pony, having grown up with him— " He has been on the farm since I was 7 years old," said Johnson.
Last year, Lacy ' s Animals on Wheels was rolling, appearing at 21 events, and participating in 17 photoshoots. And while she ' s currently a busy college student building a life for herself, studying Agricultural Engineering and considering a career as a land surveyor, Johnson isn ' t ready to put this project back in the pen anytime soon, either.
" I would like to always have Lacy ' s Animals on Wheels as a second job," she said. "... My dream for this business would be to expand to where I have a petting zoo and a building to host events and still do the mobile part. I also want to get more animals like a zebra and a camel."
Those interested in booking Lacy ' s Animals on Wheels can contact Johnson at 606-875-9672, by email at lacyjohnson2006 @ gmail. com, or on Facebook via the " Lacy ' s Animals on Wheels " page.
For Johnson, Lacy ' s Animals on Wheels, getting to stay close to her roots on the farm and make a financial investment in her future by doing so is a gift— a gift horse, perhaps, like the proverbial kind one shouldn ' t look in the mouth. And Johnson isn ' t, enjoying every bit of her experience as a youthful business owner who is able to spread her love of the animal kingdom on to other kids and kids-at-heart.
" I think the best part about it is working with the animals that I love and being able to make my own schedule," she said. " I love seeing the kids interact with the animals and getting to teach them about them if they ask."
