Ask the Readers By Christopher Harris

What is your dream date ?

The number of ways to spend quality time with one ' s significant other are as numerous and varied as people themselves . Some enjoy the simple things in life , looking back fondly at stopping at the drive-in in a Tri-Five Chevy and getting a greasy hamburger and the perfect fries ; others may enjoy being wined and dined , getting dressed up and going out somewhere fancy .
For some , it ' s when their partner popped the question , that one special date that marked the beginning of the start of a couple ' s life together ; for others , it might have been only the first date among many people met along the path of life ... but oh , that first kiss is unforgettable .
For me , I ' ve found there ' s little more fun than seeing the smile on my date ' s face when I take her somewhere that ' s magical to her specifically , somewhere that means something personal and individual . There ' s nothing better than making the person you care most about happy , making that person grin ear-to-ear .
For February , the month of Valentine ' s Day and little Cupids everywhere you look , it felt like a good time to pop this question to Southeast Kentucky Life Readers : What ' s the best , most memorable ( in a good way ), most romantic date you ' ve ever been on ?
Last year , we took a more cynical approach : What ' s the worst date you ' ve ever had ? Most all of us have our share of horror stories from the shallow end of the dating pool , but hopefully , there are just as many wonderful memories out there as there are cringeworthy ones , and the responses we got painted some pretty amazing pictures . You could just tell reading each response the fondness each person had for this particular moment in time , frozen forever in their memory ... and the smile it probably brought to their face typing it out to share with us .
And after all , that ' s what we like best : bringing a smile to someone ' s face . Here ' s hoping this month ' s " Ask the Readers " feature does the same for you .
As always , some answers may be edited for spelling or grammar , or to remove emojis ( which don ' t always print out exactly as they appeared on social media ).
Bruce Foster : Pulling a surprise engagement in the Hard Rock Cafe in Gatlinburg all while getting permission from parents without her knowing a thing .
