Travel Classics Award recipient Con-
nor Judson Garrett honed his craft
as an advertising copywriter in Los
Angeles. He is the author of two poet-
ry books — Become The Fool and Life
in Lyrics. His writing has appeared in
Private Clubs Magazine and ads for
major brands such as Texas Pete and
Ziprecruiter. His debut novel Falling
Up in The City of Angels will be re-
leased in 2019. Read “The Southern
Stonehenge” on page 44. Molly Clancy is a freelance writer and
editor based in Savannah, Georgia. She
grew up on the shores of Lake Erie, but
her heart’s home is in the hills of Pitts-
burgh. She loves finding a good story in
the obscure and mundane, especially if
it involves food, music, art or beer. Her
work has appeared in Pitt Magazine,
The Bluff magazine, and scattered
corners of the Internet. She inter-
views local restaurantuer Melody
Rodriquez de Ortiz on page 60 and
reports on Southern weed in “High
Time This Happened” on page 30.
Mark Anderson
At the end of December 2017, Mark
retired from a career with the federal
government and moved with his
family from Maryland to Bluffton. He
has written magazine articles, blogs,
press releases, resumes and a variety
of other documents throughout his
career. He enjoys warm weather, golf,
fishing, volunteering, taking long
walks on Hilton Head Island’s beach-
es and enjoying time with family and
friends. Check out his work in “All
the Right Moves” on page 58.

Michele Roldán-Shaw
Michele Roldán-Shaw is an author,
artist, adventurer and seeker of truth
and solitude. When not roaming the
wilderness, she leads a very boring
life of writing and meditation in her
beloved home office (actually an RV.)
Her current personal project and
heartstring is a series of children’s
books based on ancient tales about
the Buddha’s past lives, which illus-
trate ethics like kindness, compas-
sion, honesty, work ethic and sound
