invited by Lesley O’Mara Niki De Saint Phalle Self-trained French painter and sculptor, she created action paintings by shooting bags of paint against a blockboard backing. She also invented a new form of sculpture, exploring the roles of women through playful, monumental, brightly painted Nana sculptures made of papier-mâché.
