Sita
Sita from Valmiki’s Ramayana was the child of
Mother Earth. Sita is the personification of peace
and serenity, whose purity stood the test of trial by
fire. The Ramayana gives us an allegorical story
to understand the territory of being human. Sita’s
dinner place is set on a cloth showing the earth from
which she came and returns to; her plate is a lotus
flower surrounded untouched by the ring of flames
indicating her divine nature. The centre is formed
of an equilateral triangle representing the wisdom
of Valmiki that unites the main characters.
