Bridget Riley
Bridget Riley was born in April 1931 close to where
I live in south London. She is an influential English
painter, important in the print world for demonstrating
how print can be used as a fine art medium.
Throughout her career she has done much to advance
equality within the art world. She was a founder
member of Space Studios in 1968, and continued
to teach within a variety of south London colleges
throughout her career. Both paths I have copied whilst
continuing my own studio practice. It has been said
that no painter dead or alive has ever made us more
aware of our eyes than Bridget Riley.
