invited by Léonie Cronin Sylvia Plath As the SLWA show was being conceived I was reading Sylvia Plath’s The Bell Jar. The text consumed me with her description of a young woman trying to find herself amongst the dictates of others. I felt entwined in her sadness and her madness. Her poetry and prose touches many familiar chords with me, as a mother, as an artist and as a lover, - making me realise the importance of having access to such intimate works. Her shared emotions and reflections create powerful writing that continues to resonate. South London Women Artists I’m Inside, Ring The Bell 35
