As far as the defense goes , stars Dee Reddick and Cam Brooks look ready to help push this defense to new heights . Reddick has had a fantastic summer as a disruptive presence in pass protection . He has been making athletic plays in 7v7 ’ s and has turned into a ball hawk , snagging a significant amount of interceptions .
As for Brooks , he now has a full season of high school football under his belt and , perhaps more important , a full offseason to get bigger and stronger . After losing Javion Revels , who Rogers called one of the best interior d-lineman he has ever coached , some thought the d-line would suffer . However , Brooks and the d-line will be very formidable against any offense they see as they are returning several key
players such as Walter Reddick .
It is often said that football games are won in the trenches . If that is the case then the Yellow Jackets offensive line will be up to the task . Last season , they were extremely effective in the run game , allowing Fulton to run all over teams and , despite graduating three starters , there is little doubt they will do the same this year . Ty Brown is returning to the o-line and will serve as an excellent blocker for that backfield to run behind as they carry a larger load to start the season . Tommy Hires is also returning as part of the o-line . While Hires spent a lot of time at full back last year , Rogers believes that the significant playing time that he racked up last season will aid him this year .
