“ He started and played the whole Oconee game last year and basically played the whole Bainbridge game , too , when Shannon went down on that first drive . The kid has been around Thomasville football for a long time ,” DeLay said .
“ There ’ s something to be said about experience , especially when you ’ re talking about that position . What Parker brings to the table is that experience because he ’ s been in the program just as long as any senior we ’ ve got on this team .”
DeLay ’ s first season will be in Region 1-AAA , which should provide a challenge for last year ’ s Class AA runners-up .

That region that we ’ re in , there are some really good football teams . Looking at our schedule , we go to Monroe and then we ’ ve got Carver at home , who played for a state championship last year ; you got Columbus at home and then you ’ re at Dougherty , who were in the quarterfinals ; and then we ’ ve got Crisp on senior night . All are really good football teams .” n
