South Florida Lifestyle Guide - Holiday Gift Guide Volume II Summer in the City | Page 3

Issue number two underway. It's been a busy month around these

parts as we're still getting a handle on our new project here. I have to

say the best part of putting this magazine together is being able to

work with the creative and supportive types that I do. So much so, I've

decided to highlight our contributors in a special section that will re-

main each month because without them, this just wouldn't happen. If

you didn't read our inaugural issue here click here to take a look.

I love summer. I love everthing about it, the heat, the sun, the long

days. So in planning this issue, we designed it around the theme of

summer; bright colors, fun layouts and on topic articles, including the

stunning cover photo that I took from the 20th floor at the Mandarin

Oriental Miami. It's such a great shot of Biscayne Bay and Brickell, that

once I saw the raw photo, I knew it was "the cover shot".

While I don't play favorites, because each article has its own purpose

and sense of importance. I will tell you I love the colors and the

clothes in our fashion features and the pool theme of our craft brews

article by Chalie our brewmaster-meister. I told Chalie, "summer" see what you can come up with;

wait until you see his creativity. I'm not one to follow the pack; actually I'll go in the opposite direction once you start pushing too hard, but in the case of summer reading, I did conform, and we've put together a summer reading list of fun fiction for you to breeze through, when there is no breeze. I've recently become aquainted with a very humble fashion expert in London, who has an impeccable eye for the tinest detail; you'll see her fashion compilations showing up regularly, and our very own Domestic Goddess, Mary has kept me laughing all month with her picks and pans, so make sure you see what's hailing from Brooklyn.

I'm walking a very fine line trying not to cross-pollinate between South Florida Food and Wine and

South Florida Lifestyle Guide. While my heart and increased wardrobe size belongs to food and wine,

we have so much more to cover and talk about here that I haven't slept in two nights doing final edits

on all the exciting lifestyle topics we've got for you this month. Summer time is "you" time, take care

of you; so I've tapped some pretty fine experts that have brought you solid information on skincare,

fitness, yoga, diet, and financial planning. Yes, financial planning, this is how you get more "me time". And staying true to my roots, I scored the recipes for three of my personal favorite salads and we're hightlighting Rosé wines in our Sommelier Picks this month. And with that, I thank you for taking the time to give

us a read and I look forward to sharing our stories and finds with you again next month. Have a wonderful July!
