Issue 65 Family Matters Welcome to peace of mind Inheritance Legal services are a Will writing, trust and estate planning specialist, who have just opened their 4th branch office at 118 London Road, Kings Lynn. They offer a fresh approach to legal services and a low cost fixed fee service which includes home visits either during the day or in the evening. We also offer Saturday appointments. Mark Taylor MD says: “We are making legal services more affordable and easier to understand. We do this by offering a free estate review, reducing the jargon, producing plain English wills and having fixed low cost fees for our service. We specialise in estate planning and all our legal documents are produced by qualified solicitors.” By making a Will you can choose who will benefit, how, when and in what way. Safeguards can be put in place to protect future inheritance. Children can be protected in times of tragedy by naming future guardians and financial provision can be made to help. Future Inheritance Tax liabilities can be identified and addressed and, most importantly, assets can be protected. In short, if dealt with in the correct way, you can be certain your wishes will be met. Why do you need a Lasting Power of Attorney? A Lasting Power of Attorney is the document you sign to appoint someone you trust to act for you should you, for any reason, become unable to manage your own financial affairs or health and welfare. If you leave it too late and capacity is lost then the Office of the Public Guardian will appoint a Court appointed Deputy to manage your affairs. This can be very expensive and upsetting for the family and can take as long as 12 months to arrange. Business owners should also name a business attorney within an LPA.
