bring about the demise of the album as we knew
it, for a while anyway with the trend pushing
towards streaming individual songs. But things
seem to be coming full circle with sales of vinyl
going through the roof again which is proof that
real music fans still value a body of work by their
favourite artists. We felt that Jesters current
collection of songs were just too powerful and too
good to be honest just to let them trickle out and
not be heard as a body of work! In our opinion it's
up there with the best debut albums by any Irish
band, proper rock and roll songs with a bit of
meaning in the lyrics.
What can people expect from the album launch
gig at the Source?
Tom: The album launch gig at The Source in Thurles
is going to be a step up from anything Jester have
done before. Anyone who has been to a Jester gig

know we always put on a powerful show and have
that traditional rock and roll wall of sound, but
we're going to take it up a couple of notches again
for the album launch and put on more of a show.
We’re going to take advantage of the theatre
setting and will be incorporating the screens and
putting together a cool light show to hopefully
match the power conveyed in the songs. There’ll be
a support act on the night and you can come buy
the album and see what all the fuss is about with
us really.
After the year we’ve just had we’re really looking
forward to it. We may be slightly biased but the
Thurles crowd is the best crowd and we can’t wait
for it.
Jester’s Album launch takes place at The Source
on Saturday 16th March.
