www.thesourceartscentre.ie National String Quartet Foundation presents muSic the carducci Quartet Friday 19 October Time: 8pm Price: €12 An internationally renowned Anglo- Irish string quartet based in the UK, the versatile and award-winning Carducci String Quartet has performed everything from brand new quartets, classic works by Haydn, complete Shostakovich cycles, and even partnered with folk-rock icon Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull. Founded in 1997 around the talents of Matthew Denton (violin), Michelle Fleming (violin), Eoin Schmidt-Martin (viola), and Emma Denton (cello), the quartet has won numerous international competitions, including First Prize at Finland’s Kuhmo International Chamber Music Competition 2004. Their Naxos recordings of Philip Glass Quartets have had over six million plays on Spotify. Tonight their programme includes Beethoven Quartet Op.18/4; Donnacha Dennehy 'Pushpulling'; Philip Glass Quartet No.3 and Mendelssohn’s Quartet Op. 80   Tom Kelly presents muSic An evening with Johnny mcevoy Saturday 20 October Time: 8pm Price: €30 Johnny McEvoy has always been highly acclaimed for his excellent shows and his current nationwide tour is getting a huge response from his legion of fans. This nostalgiac evening of ‘Song and Story’ features all of Johnny's many hit songs, including ‘Muirsin Durkan’, ‘Boston Burglar’, ‘Those Brown Eyes’, ‘Long Long Before Your Time’ plus some songs from his new album. Johnny McEvoy has been one of the most enduring and talented singer/songwriters in these islands over the past 50 years.
