Experimental dream-pop duo Telephone
Explosions, comprised of Thurles native Dolores
Fogarty and Adrian Mee, returned with a self-
released debut in 2019. The album draws on
themes of hidden transmissions, unsolved
mysteries, new life and waking the dead. Nicholas Ryan-Purcell is a filmmaker from Co.
Tipperary. This documentary film chronicles the
personal experience of living with Asperger’s
Syndrome and autism spectrum disorder but
also touches on depression, which was brought
on by an early childhood trauma. The story is
supported by interviews, old video footage, and
photographs from childhood years.
Telephone Explosions formed in Maynooth in
2016 and have received a warm critical
reception since. The band have played the Body
& Soul mainstage at Electric Picnic, and at the
Sligo Live and Arcadian Field music festivals,
They were awarded Irish album of the week by
both Roddie Cleere's Irish Music Show on
KCLRFM and Gary Gibson on Liffey Sound FM
and were also shortlisted for Radio Nova's
‘Discovered’ best newcomer in June 2019.
The film runs for 54 mins and will be followed
