Orr says his greatest accomplishments included launching AgValidity , increasing sustainability efforts with the endure program , merging the seed business units into one , and most recently , integrating the Southern States business which he terms transformational in the opportunity to spread our capital costs over a much larger geographic territory .
“ And then launching our digital strategy recently , which is really a great foundation to lead us into the future ,” adds Orr .
Now as CEO , Orr says he wants to continue driving the adoption rate and growth of myGROWMARK and myFS throughout the System , with the goal of making GROWMARK the easiest company to do business with . His two other main priorities : resolving any outstanding supply chain issues along with building on the succession planning that Spradlin had put in place .
“ We do a really good job with management teams and within GROWMARK ,” adds Orr . “ But we also have to look at how we attract the best in class for all positions within the entire System such as operators in the field , and truck drivers .”
In his first 100 days , Orr says he has been focused on meeting with key stakeholders , including the Farm Bureaus , banks GROWMARK works with , System employees , stockholders , and his new senior leadership team .
When not working , Orr spends time with his wife and children . His youngest is six years old and Orr says he has definitely identified with other employees who have had to juggle home and work challenges during the last few years .
