Beef soup

The queen of all soups, namely beef soup, is for many Slovenians a vital part of a Sunday lunch. This traditional Slovene dish is prepared with quality beef meat. The meat, vegetables (like carrot, parsley, onion, leek…) and spices (black pepper, salt) are slowly cooked in a larger quantity of water. This takes a few hours, after it has cooked, the liquid is strained. The clear beef soup can then be served with spoon dumplings, noodles, grated pasta or with vegetable and some meat as a started dish. You can eat the soup with a slice of home baked bread. The beef soup can also be used as a base for other soups and side dishes.
