Role
Existing Ceiling
Beginning with a comprehensive needs
assessment, and simple roof replacement this
project expanded into and envelope upgrade
and the need to review and evolve the CPL’s
program and operational model; and to begin
a new interior fit out standard. This involved a
consolidation and reduction of collection and
well as creation of democratic space and a
children’s literacy centre. Technical innovations
included an envelope upgrade, reworking
the entry condition, new HVAC systems,
new acoustic mitigation and provision for an
Automated Material Handling unit for sorting.
This was the critical start of our relationship with
the CPL.
MTA was the Architect of Record. My primary
function was as Project Architect and Designer,
in charge of all resources and phases.
