Role
The Riddell Library and Learning Centre is
the newest building project within the Mount
Royal University campus. The elegant façade
incorporates an inscribed, translatable pattern,
linking literacy to the digital world. The facility
program emerged from a vision to relocate the
library as campus
heart along with teaching and support areas.
The design recognizes that unstructured
learning spaces are as important as traditional
structured ones and celebrates this notion
through connective spaces. Tracking LEED
Gold the building is planned on a 9 metre grid,
facilitating future reconfiguration. Finally, the
project incorporates an ambitious program
in an efficient and cost effective manner,
maximizing the value while celebrating a
unique design.
My primary function is as Project Architect,
and Coordinating professional in charge of all
resources and phases.
