SOTO means“ outdoors” in Japanese. Hajime Yamamoto founded Shinfuji Burner Co., Ltd., the company behind what would eventually become SOTO. SOTO is a pioneer in the development of innovative gas and petrol stoves that perform reliably even in harsh conditions. SOTO brand products are manufactured by Shinfuji Burner Co., Ltd. in Japan. The company has been producing burners, stoves and lamps for both private and commercial use since 1978. Yamamoto and his team began developing outdoor stoves and cookware under the SOTO brand in 1992. They invented new cooking systems such as the Micro Regulator system, which revolutionised outdoor cooking with its outstanding performance. They also succeeded in reducing the lengthy preheating time of petrol stoves to between 10 and 15 seconds. All SOTO products are manufactured in their own factory in Japan and shipped worldwide.
