Waiting For B takes us out of the 20th century and starts the more contemporary second half of the festival . This film is a great introduction to the current Brazil and what it means to be LGBT + from the youth ’ s context of today , also establishing the positive impact icons like Beyoncé ( or the two protagonists of the following documentaries ) can have on queer audiences . The last two documentaries both have transgender artists who express themselves through their art , even if in different ways . In Laerte-se we are conducted to reflect and question gender expression , to interpret Laerte ’ s cartoons who cleverly denounce society ’ s assumptions about transgender people and ponder

on her discussions of identity . On the other hand , Tranny Fag has Linn da Quebrada writing provocative music about transgender bodies and sexuality to fight the patriarchy . Personally , Linn ’ s rebellious energy and activist spirit felt like the right note to end on – both a celebration of what it means being Brazilian and queer and a war cry against society .
