Molly Rose losing my iPhone to present examples of use , I have exposed the moments in which I acknowledged how heavily I depend on it , and how this has affected the way I feel about my iPhone use today . This exercise has ultimately revealed how my iPhone dependency may have gone too far , exploring ideas of safety , companionship and the ‘ at-homeness ’ of private bubbles , the role of my iPhone certainly surpasses the expectations I had for it upon purchasing , doubling as a digital device and my own personal emotional and social comforter . I define this as problematic , and symbolic of how deeply ingrained digital media is in my life .

Molly is a 21 year old from Whitby , who has a pessimistic view of media but seems to spend a lot of her time consuming it . Her dissertation looks at performative post-femininsm by Instagram influencers such as engaging with consumer culture and the idea of the neoliberal ‘ girl boss ’. She plans to complete her Masters , travel and then work somewhere where she can express her creativity !
