In her reflective piece for Communication and Media module COMM236 , MEGAN ARROWSMITH comments on the relationship between humans and technology in the digital age . Analysing the dependency humans have on digitality , Megan defines what it means to live in the digital world and the consequences this has for our future . Megan hopes to make the most of her final year at Liverpool and can ’ t wait to be back studying her favourite subject . THE DEFINITION of a human is a widely debated topic . Professionals across various fields each have their own perception on what constitutes humanity ; the biologists would say it is DNA , and the long process of evolution which has led us to this stage in the universe . Yet the theologians argue humanity is born from God and made in his image ( Evans , 2016 , p . 1 ). This uncertainty of who or what we really are is summed up by Smith , ( 2011 , p . 1 ): “ of the many mysteries in the universe , we humans are perhaps the most mysterious of all to ourselves ”.
