W Project ’, which aims to connect communities and foster creativity . Hence , she holds various activities including talks , screenings , and internship schemes at the shop to bring the urban dwellers together , which manifests Mei ’ s sense of responsibility to the communities . Georgiou ( 2013 , p . 63 - 65 ) argues that in vernacular cosmopolitan cities difference drives contact between alterities . Wing On Wo becomes an urban contact zone under the W . O . W project , as it provides a platform for different urban dwellers to encounter different cultures and people . The participants in her cultural events exhibit their willingness to engage with others in cosmopolitanism ( Georgiou , 2013 ; Hannerz , 2006 ). Therefore a vernacular cosmopolitan city entails morality from openness to others and contacts with the alterities .
