The uneasiness of the music reaffirms Frank ’ s panic , suggesting the music is coming from Frank ’ s perspective , as a musical representation of his thoughts and emotions in this moment of realisation . As Frank becomes more panicked , the music climaxes in parallel to reflect this . The camera pans the airport , as though through the eyes of Frank , each time it pauses on an FBI agent , the music climaxes in some way , representing Frank ’ s heightened panic . For the first two FBI agents we hear the recognisable minor triplet motif of the ‘ chase ’ theme . As the camera builds speed , panning over what we presume to be Carl ’ s hat , the intensity of the music increases further . We hear faster , continuous running triplet passages , richer instrumentation ( for example the addition of the timpani ), and a crescendo , creating a greater sense of pace and panic : the music spirals into turmoil , in parallel with Frank ’ s mind at this moment .
