What am I most excited about for our church and what do I expect from our church in the next 40 years ? What kind of church would I want FKBC to be ?
40 years seems like such a long way away , I mean by then I will be 70 years old ! But it isn ’ t to God , it is simply a blink of an eye , and I am excited most for the growth of the church , not because of numbers - I simply do not care how big or small a church is - God uses them for His glory whether it is 50 people or 5000 people .
KM and the way the KM loves the EM . We should reflect on how lucky we are as members of a church that serves one another . It feels like every other day there is a church that is fighting , splitting , or in a scandal , but may God put His hand of protection over us and help us to not fall into such folly . I think Paul sums up well what I expect for the next 40 years in 1 Corinthians 9:19-23 : we must become all things to all people so we can finish the race 2 Timothy 4:7-8 .
I am excited that it seems COVID-19 is mostly behind us and we can fellowship once again together , not only that but many people have made changes in their lives and one of them is getting back into church or going to church for their first time - this is truly a harvest time ( Matthew 9:37 ).
I simply want FKBC to be what God wants it to be , this not only applies to the church at large but the children ’ s ministry as well . No one is excused from God ’ s plan and of course the first and most important thing is the great commission . We must be a great commission church ( Matthew 28:19-20 ), but how do we do it ? Through the building of relationships and loving others as ourselves ( Matthew 22:37-40 ).
