As a Biker , my heart is in my ride . Ya , know , maybe a few brothers and sisters with me on a beautiful day riding along a well maintained county two lane with the sun and wind at my back illuminating spectacular and majestic views of a land created by the hand of God himself . Pull over in the evening for a game of pool , a beer with a brother and a good night ’ s rest with my Lady …… Who would want to screw that up ?
Congress : After eight years , Congress finally banned the use of federal funds for motorcycle only checkpoints . The ban was part of a $ 305 billion highway bill called the Fixing America ’ s Surface Transportation ( or FAST ) Act . The bill was approved by a vote of 359 to 65 in the House of Representatives and 83 to 16 in the Senate . Of course that has not stopped the Oklahoma Highway Patrol from setting up checkpoints where they detain and hinder your constitutional right of freedom of movement especially when you haven ’ t broken any laws . In the Army I was told that only communist countries illegally detain their citizens at check points but that was a long time ago . Just look at big brother now !
WACO !!! Evidently it was the District Attorney ’ s office that gave the order to arrest EVERYONE who had a patch on their back . This decision as any biker can see was based on pure ignorance of motorcycle riders , their patches , clubs and organizations . Now Waco DA ’ s and the police department are facing several federal civil liberty investigations brought on by 15 victims of their unfounded

arrest all because of the ignorance of the District Attorney ’ s office . One million dollar bonds for everyone and fill in the blank arrest warrants . So many biker and non-biker lives deliberately placed in jeopardy under the observation of S . W . A . T . Team snipers because the WACO Police Department and the District Attorney ’ s office believed that ALL bikers were members of a “ criminal gang ” resulting in innocent lives destroyed by ignorance while being placed in harm ’ s way .
Sooner State ABATEs anti-profiling and equal access bill to prevent discrimination based on what we ride or what we wear is a preventative measure asking law enforcement agencies to review their procedures when dealing with the motorcycling community . Without it I fear another WACO right here in our state and others as well . Education is the key to understanding , not judicial ignorance !
YOUR SOONER STATE ABATE NEEDS YOUR HELP ! We need YOUR help biker . Everyone wants your time , your money and for you to support their cause . I confess , I want you to support Sooner State ABATE and the Oklahoma Confederation of Clubs efforts to defend and protect our constitutional freedoms which are slowly being chipped away . We need individuals and chapters to participate in Sooner State ABATE meetings for the purpose of gathering and disseminating information as well as promote safety and education on issues that affect our common cause . It may be to show up at the capitol on legislation day or make a phone call to let your legislator know how you feel

Profiling your appearance and using it as a means to prevent access , like at the Oklahoma State Fair .
Hindering your freedom of movement when no crime has been committed .
Taking your DNA after an arrest instead of after a conviction !
Confiscation of your personal property , like your motorcycle , after an arrest instead of after a conviction !
Expiration dates on your helmet forcing you to buy another one .
RFID chips in your license plates ! Used to track your movements .
Guilt by Association …… and the beat goes on ….
We need those who love riding their motorcycle to join a chapter or form one in your area . This is not a motorcycle club but an association of motorcyclist and bikers who are concerned about their motorcycling rights and constitutional freedoms . If we don ’ t learn to hang together we will all surely hang separately ! So when it comes to the preservation of your motorcycling rights and freedoms , where is your heart biker ?

TEAMWORK I hear a lot of people trying to figure out their life confused and distraught over what ’ s happening .
I hear folks saying , “ I put it all in the Lord ’ s hands .”
The truth in the matter is we sow what we reap . Meaning if we don ’ t sow , we don ’ t reap .
Meaning if we don ’ t plant the seeds , nothing will grow .
We need to remember the Lord doesn ’ t want us co-dependent on Him . He will help us and guide us , but we have to work for it also . We have to put forth effort and sometimes it ’ s hard work .
We can ’ t just say it ’ s up to the Lord . We have to commit to it and He will work through us .
Determination and commitment are the seeds we plant . Kindness , caring and love are the food and water we nourish the seeds with .
Bitterness , hatred and being judgmental are the weeds we pull out around the plants . Then the growth and strong fruitful development in those plants are what the Lord blesses us with .
So folks remember , we have work to do--hard work . We can ’ t just leave it up to someone else . This is teamwork . It ’ s a relationship . It ’ s called Unity .
So grab a shovel , a hoe , a handful of seeds , a water bucket and get to work--and let the Lord work through you .
