JUST ANOTHER STATISTIC CONT.
hearing your favorite song live. Or walking yourself out of a panic attack. Or hugging someone and feeling the warmth that human bodies naturally create. Clipping your nails and taking showers at the end of a hard week. Doodling in the middle of class and daydreaming of what the world is like beyond those stone walls of the school. Laughing at that one kid in class who makes jokes because he likes the attention.
I could go on, but I encourage all of us to look at the tiniest things that make us smile and cling to them. When you have depression and it takes you three hours to get out of bed, moving yourself limb by limb, this can be pretty tough. I know that I, a random person writing this, knows that and understands that. But even if it is something as small as finding the right temperature in the shower, it is something to live for. I think that is the greatest medicine of them all. How painfully cliche and overused this all might sound, but take it for what it is. You might have just not found that perfect temperature of the water yet. But you will, Iā ll promise you that.
So I say add me to another statistic and examine me like a graph in a textbook. I will smile at the thought that there is no way to calculate the true meaning of why we all choose to live and strive for a better life than we have now. ā
