Gentlemen's Threads
It is winter, and the temperature keeps dropping, and rising, but the importance of the scarf is something can last season after season, standing the test of time. We don’t have companies like Burberry who are known for their scarves for no reason. They are timeless, practical, and can be elegant as well as fashionable even for men.
Scarves can serve for style as much as for functionality. Sometimes they serve as both at the same time. There are different types of scarves and they come in an array of material. There are traditional scarves with two ends, then infinity scarves which loop around the neck twice or more, and cowls which are one large loop around the neck. Pictured, we have a dark gray knit cowl paired with a green hat and gray wool coat. You’ll also see two types of scarves paired with a nice business look. One is yellow and the other green. As you can see, scarves can be practical and stylish in any setting.
There are many ways to tie them—you can find countless tutorials and instructions online. Take a minute to Google search or look on Pinterest. We will opt for just draping the scarf around the neck as a style element. I think my favorite way to tie a traditional scarf is called “the City Slicker,” in which you loop the scarf, then pulling the two ends thru the loop.
Try a scarf and see how it works for. You can find them in any price point, so if you aren’t sure if scarfs are for you try a cheaper one and work to a higher quality once you’re more comfortable with it. You may be surprised how well it suits you!
