Top 5 Image Consulting Tips

1. Find out your season. Read Color Me Confident or Color Me Beautiful. If after you read these books, you still don't know your season, pay to have a color analysis done by a professional. I have always believed in finding your season. After seeing photos of people in their correct color and an incorrect color sitting next to each other, you notice how truly important color really is. In my opinion you could go wrong every where else but, if you are wearing a good color (for your season) it can save you!! There are obviously four seasons Winter, Summer, Spring and Fall.

2. Figure out your body shape. There are 5 basic body shapes: Rectangle (shoulders, waist, hips are very close to the same size), Inverted Triangle (Widest at the shoulders), Round (shoulders & hips are almost the same, Waist is the widest), Triangle (hips wider than shoulders), and hourglass (hips and shoulders are close to the same). Knowing your body shape will help you learn ways to enhance the features you love and camouflage things you don't like.

3. Look at your features in your face and the spacing. If you choose to wear patterns your clothing should reflect what you see. For example I have small to medium features and medium spacing. Therefor my prints should be similar small to medium print with medium spacing. This simple rule will help to keep the focus on your beautiful face.

4. Know your face shape. There are 7 different face shapes. Oval, Round, Square, Rectangle, Pear, Diamond, Heart. This will help to create a hairstyle that fits your face and your style. A good hairstyle is important to a polished look.

5. To round out my favorite tips. Your Makeup. There are three different styles for your makeup. Natural, Classic, and Dramatic. There is a time and a place for all three makeup styles. Natural: day to day wear, weekend, casual days. Classic: Work wear. Dramatic: Evening wear, Date night. Dinner. I consider classic ok for casual days. Maybe it's just the makeup lover in me. :)
