Adjustment 3 Touch Tapestry Special Educator and Therapist Jagriti-Ben visits Saniya for one hour every week for a session that is helping to improve Saniya’s ability to participate in daily life. Sensory exercises use a range of textured household objects like cleaning sponges and towels against the skin to stimulate sensation and awareness. The physiotherapy involves exercises that stimulate sensory, cognitive and social development. We made the Touch Tapestry using a variety of everyday materials sourced from the local market, and featuring Gujarati letters. It is a sensory and visual aid that Saniya could access by herself without the attention of a therapist or family member. 12
