WHAT IS “VOKI FOR EDUCATION”?
Voki is a fun application tool that we used in the English classroom to record our voices and practice writing and speaking. Voki has a collection of customizable speaking avatars and you can change their appearance and what they say, and share with others. You can download this app on your tablet for free and try it. Sure you like it.
In the class, first, we wrote about ourselves, about our personal features and our likes and dislikes.
After that, the teacher corrected all our writings and once we had the right text, we could start experimenting with Voki.
In Voki, we selected an avatar, we chose some features and also a background. Then, we recorded our voices saying the text. Finally, we had to send it to Lidia by drive. This was very difficult because sometimes we couldn’t download the videos and we don’t know why.
PERSONAL OPINION
All the classes of 6th graders liked it because it is fun creating an avatar and listen to him talking with your voice. But, there were classmates that were very shy when they listened to their voices.
The pity was that we couldn’t edit a lot our avatars because most of the characters weren't free. At the beginning of the app, all the avatars were available and free, but now that the app is famous and popular, you have to pay if you want to edit a complex avatar.
