on a job well done. Instead of passively
receiving that compliment, Stagg
coached that young reporter. He said
in his straightforward manner, “I won’t
know how good a job I did for twenty
years. That’s when I’ll see how my boys
turned out.”
As you might imagine, Amos Alonzo
Stagg was inducted into the College
Football Hall of Fame. What you
might not know, however, is that he
was inducted as both a player and a
coach. But it gets even better. Stagg
was inducted into the Basketball Hall
of Fame too! In fact, Amos Alonzo
Stagg coached football, basketball, and
baseball at the University of Chicago.
He actually turned down six offers
to play professional baseball, but he
helped a lot of future major leaguers
with another one of his inventions—the
batting cage!
It’s measured by every blessing we
bestow. The relationship between Elijah
and Elisha prototypes what the double
