Under huge white tent canopies,
over a hundred volunteers from the
North Carolina Baptists on Mission
(NCBM) hustled about helping those
in need. This organization shuttled
in equipment and volunteer teams
to Florida a few days after Hurricane
Irma struck. The teams would come in
shifts and spend two or so weeks at a
time until other relief volunteers took
their place.
A group of men and women, most in
their fifties and sixties and a few even
in their seventies, set up a feeding unit
in Big Pine Key. Some
