sync with God’s guiding Spirit.
I think moments when we aren’t protected
are exactly when God shows up. Those
moments of risk—and sometimes
failure—are when we are closest to
a divine presence that transforms our
heart, mind, and soul. Intimacy with God
simply doesn’t happen when we avoid
risk. When we follow Jesus into the world,
the worst that can happen is failure. It
might be a minor fail, like the homeless
guy cursing us out instead of giving us a
sweet smile. It might be major, like Paul
being shipwrecked.

Either way, God is in the moment. God
uses the moment.
Christians are followers of Jesus.
Let’s trust him enough to follow him
somewhere risky.
