better, and plan further ahead so that, instead of feeling you’re at the mercy of the business and busyness of modern- day life, you’ll be more proactive about your future. That’s worth sorting through some files and throwing out some office supply duplicates, don’t you think? Minimizing Checklist How will you know when you’ve cleared out enough clutter and excess from your home office? Ask yourself these questions: • Does this space encourage me to focus on my work? • Do the tools and supplies I have kept help me work better, or are they getting in the way of it? • Does this space invite me to enjoy the work I do? • Are my paper files organized in a way that makes sense to me? • Is this work space convenient and efficient for each person I share it with? • Does the technology around me solve problems or only contribute to them? • Is this space easy to maintain?
