better, and plan further ahead so that,
instead of feeling you’re at the mercy of
the business and busyness of modern-
day life, you’ll be more proactive about
your future. That’s worth sorting
through some files and throwing out
some office supply duplicates, don’t
you think?
Minimizing Checklist
How will you know when you’ve cleared
out enough clutter and excess from
your home office? Ask yourself these
questions:
• Does this space encourage me to
focus on my work?
• Do the tools and supplies I have
kept help me work better, or are
they getting in the way of it?
• Does this space invite me to
enjoy the work I do?
• Are my paper files organized in a
way that makes sense to me?
• Is this work space convenient
and efficient for each person I
share it with?
• Does the technology around me
solve problems or only contribute
to them?
• Is this space easy to maintain?
Have I left enough room in cabinets
and drawers to put things away at
the end of the day?
