God gives us, allowing the miraculous
to work in our lives as we tend to
whatever God puts in our hands.
Many times I don’t even get to see
the results of the things that I start,
but my commitment is simply to be
obedient to God’s purposes for my
life.
Sometimes you will be a part of
bringing change that is about culture,
or church health, or prayer. I’ll never
forget many years ago the elders of
a church telling me that if I brought
a keyboard into the church, I would
not be welcomed back. (Electric
keyboards were too “of this world”
for them.) I could not do much at
that time. I was just eighteen years
old and had little experience and no
authority. But with a fire in my belly
and the grace of God to be calm and
loving in a new space of worship, I’ve
been able to, many years later, join
with the great gathering of leaders of
worship around the earth. Together
we’ve been able to see music do what
it was meant to do, which is not for
believers to just sing songs in church,
but for every man, woman, and child
to engage in the great eternal anthem
of worship that rises from our hearts
to His, by His grace and for His glory,
welcoming the Holy Spirit in power
and might as the atmosphere morphs
to the sound of heaven on earth. Oh,
what a divine privilege!
David had a slingshot, a stone, and
the power of God. Esther had a godly
uncle, a crown, and a voice. Nehemiah
had favor with the king, a heart that
burned for the Lord’s people, and a
fire in his belly to bring about change.
At some point, all of them had to
take a deep breath and say yes to
the unknown, following their holy
discontent. God had a planet full of
people who needed a way to Him, and
He had a Son who was willing to lay

Whatever you feel
God is speaking to
your heart about, why
don’t you start just
doing what you can do
to help bring about a
resolve.
