had to return to Sweden for medical
care. Unfortunately, the owner never
made it back to Spain so the brothers
were housed in kennels. Ossian found a
new home during the summer with a
wonderful German family who live in
Almuñecar. Unfortunately, they could
not take two dogs so Sebastian is still in
kennels waiting to be adopted as well.
suffered from a memory related illness so Portia has been
overfed for the last couple of years but she is otherwise in very
good health and is currently on a diet while she is in kennels.
Portia is a lovely, medium sized female who enjoys being
around people. She also gets along with other dogs and is
curious about cats but we do not think she would hurt one.
If you could provide any of these lovely dogs with a foster or
permanent home or if you would like to meet any of the CAS
rescue dogs and cats who are up for adoption please feel free to
call Kurt or Laura at 95 252 1426. To find out more about
helping CAS contact Vera at 95 252 9670 or Fiona via the

Sebastian
He is a four year old Podenco cross who
loves people and gets along great with
other dogs but would not be good with
cats. He is in fine health, chipped, fully
vaccinated and castrated and would make
a wonderful addition to any family.
Simba is an older youngster who is
coming up on his first birthday.
Simba
Unfortunately, in this short time he has
had three owners. Because Simba got off
on the wrong paw in life he has not been given the proper
training to correct certain puppy behaviours before they
became issues. Simba loves to play with other dogs and is full
of energy but as he matures he will settle into a calmer adult.
He is a lovely dog who is very affectionate but he needs an
owner with the confidence and
patience to show Simba how to live in
a home.
Portia was adopted from CAS over ten
years ago. She lived a good life with
her owner during that time but, sadly,
her owner died last month so Portia is
looking for a new home. The owner

Lenin and Mao were adopted from CAS as kittens but their
owners have bought, and moved into, a house in a
development that is completely hostile to cats. Unfortunately,
these two comrades are wont to befriend everyone. For the
safety of these two handsome ginger and white boys, they are
currently being kept indoors as a temporary solution until a
new home can be found.
They are inseparable and
would love to be re-homed
together. For more

CAS Shop News
Lenin and Mao
With the arrival of what
passes for winter in our lovely subtropical climate, we have
restocked our shelves and racks with a fine collection of
trousers, sweaters, scarves, boots, jackets and accessories. We
also offer an excellent selection of books, bric-brac, DVDs and
numerous other items, all at bargain prices. The CAS shop is at
c/ Castilla Perez 2. Open Monday to Saturday from 10.00am
until 2.00pm. Donations are always welcome and we are eager
to hear from people who are interested in becoming shop
volunteers. One four hour shift once a week makes a big
difference. There are always two volunteers per shift making
for a safe, relaxed, congenial environment.

Could you help?
CAS is always in need of more volunteer
helpers in a number of areas, so if you have
spare time to fill, please make contact! In
particular, more fundraisers are needed to
work with our team. In addition, fosterers are
always required to take short-term care of
animals until a permanent home can be
found for them. Even if you are only here for
few months a year, CAS would appreciate
your help. For a no-obligation chat, contact
Vera on 95 252 9670 for general enquiries.
Simone on 619 903 815 can answer queries
about airport runs in English, German or
Spanish.
And despite the tough times and
uncertainties, money is always needed to
cope with the continuous flow of abandoned
dogs and cats requiring help from CAS.
If you could donate a little to help the
animals, CAS would be most grateful.
