Anyone for Jazz? Lazy River Jazz Band are on tour for a winter break to the Costa Del Sol and to share their passion for “happy jazz”. Band leader Chris Perrin and wife Veronica have played in and around Nerja for a few years as Brief Encounter Duo but have now decided it’s time to bring the band over from the UK. It has a full seven piece line up and plays old style New Orleans and Classic Jazz. The repertoire includes vintage numbers from the 1920s and 30s and later numbers from the NO revival period of the 40s and 50s. You can expect to hear elements of blues, gospel, ragtime, stride and stomps. It’s authentic sounding, good for dancing and has that feel good factor. The band members have huge experience and have some of the best players on the circuit. The band plays Nerja Cultural Centre on Friday March 15, starting at 9pm. Tickets are €10 at the door. They will also play in Eshivira Club, Granada on Saturday March 16, at 11pm. See advertisement on page 51. it’s not to be missed! A light-hearted and fun evening! March 19 - The Two Bees Take On Runners up: Cris Layton and Mark Overton 58.75% and third place: Jette Lind and Andrew Gore.
