What’s On Foundation drawing and painting Barry Seguin was born in Ottawa, Canada and from an early age wanted to be an artist. After high school, he graduated from the design and advertising program at Algonquin College. Having had the privilege of being involved in art all of his life — as an owner of a leading graphic design firm, painter, drawer, observer, student, and teacher — he now does what he truly loves; draws and paints from life. Granada 84, Nerja. Cost is €10 each session for a maximum of 8 artists. The classes will cover the Still Life, Portraits, Figure and Plein Air. Barry offers personal and focused art instruction. At each session he will demonstrate his drawing and painting process and break down the steps for you to follow. He works directly from life, favours representational art and focuses on the principles of realism and keen observation—always attempting to capture the spirit of the subject. Barry paints primarily in oil and really enjoys painting plein air, inspired by nature. Barry’s figures won First prize at the 2010 Ottawa Figureworks Show; Finalist in 2011, and Third prize in 2012. He has also exhibited at the Nepean Visual Arts Centre, Rothwell Gallery in Ottawa and the Central Experimental Farm Art Show.
