Hello and welcome to the February edition of Soltalk . February in Nerja means Carnaval - in case you hadn ’ t guessed from our cover ! Carnaval is from Thursday 16th to Sunday 19th February although at the time of going to print there was no poster or programme available , but this should be available at least a week before the events and we will endeavour to publish them on our Facebook page . Carnaval is one of my favourite fiestas , especially the Sardine ’ s Funeral on the Sunday - usually both sad and hilarious ! If you have not seen it before it is definitely one to look out for .
What a month - with everyone ’ s favourite romantic day coming up on February 14 , I expect you will all be sitting by your letterboxes waiting for the pile of red envelopes to fly in ... not ! Still the odd romantic gesture wouldn ’ t go amiss I ’ m sure .
But before both of these fab events we have the Rugby Six Nations Championship ( known as the Guinness Six Nations for sponsorship reasons ) which starts on February 4th . You can read more about it in SportTalk on page 32 and also pull out our special liftout in the centre pages to keep track of who wins which match . These pages were kindly sponsored by some of our regular advertisers who will be showing the matches so do mention Soltalk when you go to watch the games please !
