Brandi is one such dog who was rescued by a Danish couple who were here on holiday. She is a shy dog, a bit timid, but the couple slowly gained her confidence and took care of her for several weeks. Brandi is a one to two-year-old small Podenco female who weighs about ten kilos and is in good health apart from having flat front feet. The vet has examined her and says this does not cause her any pain and may be corrected with a special diet Brandi as she was probably malnourished as a pup. Whilst in kennels Brandi has come out of her shell and proven to have a really sweet disposition and funny personality. CAS is always in need of more volunteer helpers in a number of areas so if you have spare time to fill, please make contact! In particular, we are currently seeking someone who can help with fundraising and social media promotion. In addition, fosterers are always required to take short-term care of animals until a permanent home can be found. CAS provides fosterers with all they need: food, medicine, bedding, leads, etc., as well as advice at any time. Even if you are only here for few months a year, CAS would appreciate your help. Punta Lara CAS Quiz CAS, in partnership with Mark and the staff at the Punta Lara Bar, is pleased to announce that the next CAS quiz will be held on Friday, February 21 at 7.30pm. Come and join in the fun as the regular quiz teams test their wits against one another in a trial of trivia knowledge. CAS Cat News Each month CAS allocates €500 to help the homeless kitten and cat population in Nerja, Maro and the surrounding countryside. Unfortunately in the process of rescuing our feline friends and providing for the stable cat colonies that we are aware of those funds are quickly exhausted. Examples of costs incurred include: food, blood tests, neutering, vaccinations, treatment for worms, fleas and ticks, microchipping and providing the cats with passports for rehoming abroad. If foster homes cannot be found, kenneling costs can quickly escalate. Thus, the adding machine tape runs on and on. Life on the streets for a homeless cat is one of constant danger and a tireless quest for food and shelter.
