A construction stage awaited with some excitement was the hook-up of the forepart and afterbody of the ship. Because of its size, construction of the hull was split between two Romanian yards. The forepart was built in Tulca and the afterbody in Constanta. This demanded meticulous accuracy in the construction process, but when the two hulls were hooked up in September, everything fit exactly – to the centimeter! When Solships went to press, the hull was on its way to Brattvåg, Norway, where it was scheduled to arrive mid December. Here the ship’s interior will be outfitted, and the deck cranes installed.
