Per Stange says the company has increased the number of its Filippino
seamen in a very short time. In addition to the growth of the fleet, Solstad
Offshore acquired 100 per cent of NOR Offshore in 2011. This takeover
saw the number of Solstad’s Filippino seamen increase significantly, and
Solstad has currently more than 500 Filippino seamen in various positions.
The HR Director adds that it is Solstad’s clear understanding that these
seamen prefer to be employed by the company they are working for and
emphasizes that it is a greater responsibility and bigger commitment for
the company to take over the crew.
- At the same time, we believe this will lead to a stronger feeling of loyalty
and sense of belonging amongst the crew on board. The fact that all employees are employed by the same company will bring a feeling of cohesion
and solidarity amongst our employees, he says. He emphasizes that by using its own employees, Solstad will have greater continuity on board. It will
be easier to ensure that work performed is up to Solstad’s standards, and

Services Philippines Inc., Rolando Adorable.
Overføringen vil skje i løpet
kontoret vårt i Manila.

the formal employer of the Filippino seamen.
