fleet department Greetings from the Fleet department It’s getting closer to Christmas and the end of a busy year for all of us. Technical operation: as usual it has been a hectic year, with planned dockings and repairs that were more or less planned. What is very positive is that damages and operational delays have decreased significantly. Oskar Tveit is a new employee in the Technical Department, Norway. New builds delivered: NB 724 Brattvåg,(Prosper) NB 290 Ulstein (Ranger) NB 69 Brevik (Baltic) and NB 167 Bergen group.(Pacific) We currently have two new builds on the go here in our organisation NB 730 Brattvåg, and NB 755, Langstein. Husøy has become the base we wanted it to and is frequently visited by our boats in the area. Purchasing Department processes more orders than ever and has done a great job in keeping up to date with the large influx of new builds and purchased boats. SFI/PMS prosject. Star , building of databases and implementation is underway, somewhat slower than expected as we had less capacity to work on this than previously anticipated. The project has now been strengthened by one person Tore Fykse, with the focus on measures to reduce the workload, particularly for purchasing, and to get more vessels over to Star. Archive: Morten is on the ball with everything here and is starting to find some room around him, but we would encourage you all to copy him on all new and revised documentation so that the archive is up todate at all times. The Competence Group, consisting of Sigurd Johannesen and Jan Viste, are working steadily on various projects, with the emphasis on improving our specifications and quality assuring the projects we do, both for new builds and for the existing fleet. We end this year as last year, with a thank you to all of you at sea and onshore who do their best so we can deal with the challenges we constantly face. Normand Baltic Operating a vessel is a 24/7 job and is dependent on every person, regardless of their position or workplace carrying out their tasks. If we manage to do this we are well on the way to tackle any future challenges. With best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! On behalf of Solstad Fleet Department Geir Inge Haugeberg.
