Montana State Billings: Aubrey Conceicao batted .522 on
MSUB’s eight-game conference road trip to Bellingham
and Lacey. Conceicao and Kelsey Devlin each drove in six
runs as MSUB won three of five road games. Taylor Hope
had nine hits in 23 at bats.
Week of Feb. 2-8: Player – Amanda Evola, Western
Oregon (OF, 5-7, Sr., Beaverton, OR) had 10 hits in 23 at
bats as the Wolves won two of six games in the NFCA
Division II Leadoff Classic at Tucson, Ariz. Evola also scored
six runs and stole a pair of bases. Two of WOU’s losses
were in extra innings.
Pitcher - Makinlee Sellevold,
Western Washington (Fr., Everett, WA - Cascade), making
her collegiate debut, allowed just one hit – a one-out
infield single in the first inning – in a 3-0 shutout of
Chaminade. Sellevold walked one batter, hit one and
fanned four.
Northwest Nazarene: Ali Schauer and Lili Paschal each had
four hits in 12 at bats in the Crusaders’ four-game series at
Western Oregon. Ashley Pesek had NNU’s only two home
runs as well as handling most of the pitching duties,
fanning 18 hitters in 13 1/3 innings.
Saint Martin’s: Lindsey Miller didn’t allow a run and gave
up just one hit in 8 2/3 innings as the Saints won three of
four games in a series with MSU Billings, outscoring the
Yellowjackets 29-8. In a 5-0 win over MSU Billings, the
only hit she surrendered was a lead-off double in the third
inning by Taylor Hoke. On offense both Miller and Sam
Munger had six hits. Alyssa Slate had a team-best five RBI.
Week of Feb. 9-15: Player - Alicia Fine, Wes tern
Washington (SS, 5-6, Sr., Mount Vernon, WA – Portland
State), batted .500 (10-of-20) and drove in 14 runs as the
Vikings won four of six games in Las Vegas. Among her 10
hits, were four doubles and three home runs as she posted
a 1.150 slugging percentage. She walked three times and
didn’t strikeout out. For the week, she batted .400 (14-of35) and drove in 15 runs in 10 games. Pitcher – Lindsey
Kamphuis, Central Washington (5-10, Fr., Kennewick, WA Kamiakin) won two games allowing just 15 hits in 18
innings as the Wildcats won four of five games to open its
season. Her first win was a 10-3 complete-game conquest
of No. 19 ranked Humboldt State.
Simon Fraser: Alex Baylak batted .471 (8-of-17) as the
Clan posted a 2-4 record. Taylor Lundrigan and Rachel
Proctor had identical .389 averages each going seven for
18. Proctor had a team-high five RBIs. Kelsie Hawkins
won two of three decisions, allowing just three runs in 15
2/3 innings, walking just one batter and striking out 13
batters.
Western Oregon: Amanda Evola batted .600 (See Player of
the Week) in WOU’s four-game sweep of Northwest. The
Wolves outhit NNU .,375 to .220 in the series and posted a
1.62 team ERA, led by Alyson Boytz, who pitched two
complete games, allowing just 10 hits and three runs in 14
innings. The Wolves hit six home runs in the series, two
each by Evola and Emma Alfonso, who had just nine
official at bats.
Week of Feb. 16-22: Player – Sam Munger, Saint Martin’s
(P-SS, Sr., Everett, WA) led the Saints to a 5-0 record both
at the plate and in the circle. She had 10 hits – increasing
her career total to 219 which is the seventh highest in
GNAC history – in 21 at bats. Among her hits were four
doubles and two home runs. She drove in 10 runs
including six in a 10-3 win over Northwest Christian. She
also recorded her 64th and 65th career wins – No. 3 all-time
in the conference – allowing just four runs (two earned) in
13 innings. Pitcher – Kiana Wood, Central Washington (56, So., Aloha, OR) won two games defeating Dominican 6-0
and Holy Names 13-1. She pitched six innings and allowed
just two hits against the Penguins, then pitched a fiveinning complete-game against Holy Names.
Western Washington: Alicia Fine had nine hits, including
three doubles, to lead the Vikings to a 4-2 record during a
4-2 homestand to open the conference season. Alexie
Levin and Emily Benson each had six RBI in the six games
during which the Vikings scored 30 runs and allowed 30.
Makinlee Sellevold, who won all four games, gave up 8
runs in 32 1/3. In the 11 2/3 innings in which Sellevold
didn’t pitch, the Vikings surrendered 22 runs.
Week of Feb. 23-March 1: Player – Emily Osborn, MSU
Billings (1B, 5-8, Sr., Las Vegas, NV – Bonanza) had nine
hits in 21 at bats, including two doubles and three home
runs, as the Yellowjackets won four of six games in the
College of Idaho/Northwest Nazarene Classic. Osborn had
a total of five RBIs including three in a 5-3 win Saturday
against College of Idaho. Pitcher – Jessyka MacDonald,
MSU Billings (5-8, Sr., Billings, MT) recorded three victories
and also earned a save, allowing just 10 hits in 15 innings.
