ST.
THOMAS AQUINAS
15
St. Thomas is best known as the first philosopher who managed to demonstrate the relationship between philosophy (reason) and religion (faith). St. Thomas stands out not for his revolutionary discoveries but for his ability to achieve an imposing synthesis between reason and faith. He managed to trace his thought thanks to the philosophy of a great thinker; Aristotle. The philosophy that St. Thomas created was called "Christian Aristotelianism." His greatest work is called Summa Theologica, where it shows and proves the existence of God, our creator.
Throughout the history the religion has been a theme of great controversy, religion gives us and takes from us several thing, for example they gives us ethics, hope, etc. There has been huge conflicts on whether who is the religion that has reason about whose God is the true one, there had been wars to prove or have something that their religion “asks”. Nowadays a new controversy has born, instead of having a war we have a conflict where people question the existence of God, and also living in the 21th century, people reject the church for its close mind on hommosexual marriage or abortion.
On this occasion, we had the pleasure of being able to interview this philosopher, one of the medieval philosophers best known for his thinking about the problems concerning some controversial issues on religion.
