These lines by the world-famous Accordion player Professor Semir Hasic truly
describe the essence of music and what it means in his life. The notes of his
brilliant music have charmed the world.
Born in 1964 in Zenica (the fourth largest city of Bosnia and Herzegovina), the
famed artist and composer started playing harmonics when he was just six. He
was taught by the two times world champion in harmonics, Mr.Janez
Govednik.
Soon he had graduated from the Music School and Music Academy based in
Sarajevo. And as they say, rest is history!!!
Semir has played at concerts throughout the Europe and USA. He has also
played for Pope John Paul II and also at rock concerts of various iconic pop
and rock musicians. Since the time he graduated and started playing, there has
been no looking back.
One of the major accomplishments of his life, ever till date has been his
crowning as the “World Champion” in 1994 at the World Accordion Contest
held at Italy also his well deserved title of “Mozart of Balkans”.
At numerous International fairs, he has represented the world of accordion
players, makers, and the entire world of music as the ‘ACCORDIONS
VICTORIA’.
Well, not only for his music, he is known for his down-to-earth nature and
donations for best young players in the “Sammy Award” to music schools.
The name and fame he has earned throughout these years have never been
accomplished and matched by anyone else. People do try to imitate him but his
exceptional style, compositions and performances were not something which
could be imitated.
