HARIBAABU NAATESAN “Whenever I see scrap materials, I see a soul waiting to come to life.” This is what National Awarded artist, Haribaabu Naatesan, aka Hari, has to say when someone asks him what he does to what we call “scrap” in layman language. Haribaabu is a famed name in the world of abstract work, automobile art and creatures’ artwork. Catering to his clients, both India and Abroad, Haribaabu has come a long way from his first ever solo exhibition, titled “Esthesis” at Mumbai’s ‘Out of the Blue’ art café in 2009 to “Repercussions” group show in 2016, and reaching faraway in London too. The super proud achievement being the sculpture he built for Shri Narendra Modi’s initiative of “Make in India”, which the whole nation feel proud of. His clientele base too includes several big names - other than ‘Make in India’ project, companies and organizations like Volkswagen, Viacom 18, Mercedes-Benz and a lot more to count. Haribaabu found his passion to express his unique and quirky style in an unusual, out of the box way by using scrap and throw-away objects during his Masters at NID, Ahmedabad. 84 SOCULTURES JAN-FEB2019
