Do u research?   My writer Danish Iqbal helps me. And we both do research. He writes and I adapt and make sure that stories stay true to its original essence. Dastangoi and profession Profession? It’s the passion which attracts people towards it. The sad part is that people think that we, the artists are doing it as a hobby and we don’t need money or they don’t need to pay the artists. We seriously need to promote this art. It not only helps to keep alive our folktales, old stories, past culturs but also educate especially the youngsters of impressionable minds.   How do you choose the stories? Ohh! It’s like the stories which instantly make me fall in love with them. The stories which always linger in mind and touches my heart.. Moreover, these stories should be not only good to read but also good to listen.. Preserving and enriching… I have done some specific work on preserving and reviving dialects of old Delhi, which are on the verge of extinction.  Now some of these dialects include Dilli ki Karkhandai Zubaan, Dilli ki Begmami zubaan, Dilli ki Naiyon ki Boli etc etc.. So, workshops, plays, performances based on these dialects are always the main highlights of my work.  Riyaz( Practice) The sound of audience applauding, clapping is what motivates us to do our best. The mastery on dialect, impeccable control on required voice modulation and intonation come after practice, which I calls Riyaz means Practice. 75 SOCULTURES JAN-FEB2019
